Welcome to the Ardmore Academy of Irish Dancing!

1.  What should my child wear to class?

Children should wear t-shirts or tank tops, shorts or leotard and tights etc.  No long pants, jeans or anything too baggy.

2.  What kind of shoes do they need?

There are special shoes for Irish Dancing that are preferable for class.  They are called ‘ghilles’ or ‘soft shoes’.  We have a collection of second-hand shoes in the office, or they can be purchased from Fay’s shoes at www.fayshoes.com.  If your child has ballet slippers already,  these are fine for beginners.

3.  When do classes start?

Classes begin the first week of September.  Classes run until mid-June.  We also offer a 6 week summer cycle.

4.  How do I find out about studio closures?

If the studio must close due to inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstances,  this information will be posted on our website and on our school message board.

5.  When is tuition due?

Our tuition is paid bi-monthly and is due on the 1st of the month.  Payment schedule is as follows:
September and June
October and November
December and January
February and March
April and May

There is a payment box in the Rutherford studio that payments can be dropped in.

6.  Is there an end-of-year recital?

Each year we have an end of year recital.  Date and location will be announced as soon as they are set.

7.  Are there any other events that I should be aware of?

YES!!

The Ardmore Academy participates in various St. Patrick’s Day parades, and various other St. Patrick’s Day shows.  All are welcomed and encouraged to participate.

We also have our annual dinner dance that is a great night for both children and adults.  Once the date is confirmed we will let you know.
